New Torrent - Titanium Blue Anodized/Carbon Fiber

Reate New Torrent in Blue Anodized Titanium/Carbon Fiber

Takeaways, for those not into reading:

Refined, evolved version of iconic design from Reate (Torrent)

Textured handles/inlays for grip strength

Exactly what you’d expect from a design in continuous refinement

The New Torrent is (in our opinion) the heavyweight option to the Mini Horizon-D.  Everything on this knife is built for work.  It uses a 3.6 inch Damasteel RWL-34 blade finished to a clip point.  That blade folds in and flips out of a 4.85 inch blue anodized titanium handle with drilled out titanium back spacer and clip.  The carbon fiber inlay gives a nice material pop on an otherwise all business handle.  It is a great design for picking up and using, and we wouldn’t worry about handing our New Torrent to anyone and them not knowing how to use it.  Tipping the scales at 6.17 oz, this knife has that “well made heavy” feeling (as Paul would call it).

It is really refreshing to see a company like Reate continuously improving and incrementally bettering their iconic designs, without reissuing them.  Take something great, remove anything not great, and make only great additions seems to be the (winning) recipe for the New Torrent.
