Star Boy - Titanium Bead Blasted
Reate Tashi Bharucha Star Boy in Titanium
Takeaways, for those not into reading:
Compact knife with loads of design features
Comfortable handle, despite its apparent size
Bharucha design DNA Reate build quality and consistency
The Star Boy is a collaboration between French knifemaker Tashi Bharucha and Reate. Bharucha is best known for his slim, yet ergonomic handles, and Reate is the king of build quality and consistency. These incredible knives use a 3.35 inch RWL-34 steel (made by Damasteel AB in Sweden) blade with a clip point and triangle shaped flipper tab (Paul called it the triangle trigger) That blade folds in and flips out of a 4.25 inch 3D machined titanium handle that has been bead blasted. Our team is still amazed at how a handle that seems so thin to look at has such great handling ability. It has a titanium clip in matching finish to the handle that stores the knife in your pocket, tip up. At 4.19oz, you might even forget it’s in your pocket!
When we saw this knife, we were immediately smitten. Since we were actually unsure of another way to get a piece of Tashi Bharucha’s work, carrying a design of his, made by our friends at Reate, seemed like a no brainer.
